Like you, Critical Event has a passion for wonderful images that tell a story and inspire an audience. We’ve read other newspapers and surfed the web – low quality images are quick turn off, simply so much choice nowadays.
Our images have regularly appeared in local media and helped event organizers promote future events. Our normal brief is a balance of “safe shots” providing as many participants as possible with a quality photo opportunity, with a degree of more exciting “higher risk” concept, abstract or unusual shots.
In some cases we can supply written articles to support the photographs and where possible we record the names of those who appear in “media” potential photographs during the event.
Free Images
Critical Event images are therefore generally available to event promoters and local news media at No Cost. We like to think of this as trying to do our bit to help promote our community, and if people see “critical event” pictures in your publication or web-site it helps to build our our reputation as a local source of great photo’s.
Normally we upgrade an image to “Platinum” standard as a courtesy.
There are a few general courtesies, the use must be agreed – no sneaking it into a Big Sales Poster, Promo T-Shirts or selling onto someone else etc. Also if you want an exclusive rights licence, or the ability to look before anyone else, or if the image is being used in a “stock” application to provide visual support to an article there will normally be a charge. We use industry established bench marks to establish current image values dependant on your specific requirements.
